A combination of Mountaineering and Paragliding : on the road to thrilling adventures !
This course mixes paragliding and mountaineering, it’s what we call a “combo”. It is intended for pilots, autonomous on takeoff and landing, with an intermediate level of mountaineering, who wish to optimize the success of their future paragliding adventures. As guides, we will give you the benefit of our mountain experience to help you choose your climbs. On the pilot side, we will show you all the tips for managing your equipment, choosing your conditions and enjoying a great flight to end your day. During the week we will see a theoretical part, carry out mountain flights and mountaineering alpine climbs.

Objectif
Optimise your Paragliding/climbing skills for greatest experiences
To do this, we will see together a theoretical part on the choices and constraints of mountain outings. Then we will focus on a typical mountain flight part during which we will set up complex situations (slopes, departure in snow, weight of the bag, storage of equipment, etc.). Finally we will create a combo together depending on the level of the group and the current weather. With their experience, the AlpWind instructors will be able to guide you as best as possible towards a suitable summit.
Philosophy
A price for a very specific course
This course is intended to allow you to confront the reality of the choices of a mountain flight with making an ascent by mountaineering and descent from a summit by paraglider. We provide you with a certain number of specific equipment (harness, ice axe, crampons, etc.) For greater efficiency and optimization of flights, the number of participants is reduced to 4 (mini 2 pers). This low client/guide ratio is a guarantee for us quality of learning, user-friendliness and security.
How ?
Your instructor-guide will help you create the outline of a route according to the conditions and the level of the group. It will guide your choices with regard to security, but will also give you a certain autonomy in your decisions: Confronting small errors is also a way of broadening your expertise! The objective is not to climb Mont Blanc or Everest but to manage to move in the mountains and fly down, all while ensuring your safety.
For Whom ? What Level ?
The paragliding-mountaineering course is aimed at pilots with at least a Pilot Certificate or who can demonstrate equivalent experience Autonomous take off and landings are not a problem for you.
You have a lightweight wing (single-surface or double-surface e.g. Ufo2, Ozone Ultralight, etc.) and a light mountain harness.
You have an intermediate mountain experience: you know how to rope up, use crampons, use ice axe, you know how to belay using a rope, you are comfortable climbing at level 4+. The projected clips will be in a PD/AD level. Please send us the list of technical mountain outings that you have already completed.
